Mixed Systems
Following an alarm event the BT-xx units will dial up a selection of numbers until it contacts a BIT-VISION program or BT-62 network controller. Spurs to radio connected sites may be added by using the VF interface on the rear of the BT-62.. |
Calling in from home
Even if main PC is off, Technicians can call in on their home PC and access entire radio network. they can also look at a log of file of alarms received during the night so far. |
Multiple Networks
Rather than have a separate PC on each Network, One PC can be made to access any number of different multiple networks at once, by fitting a BT-xx to the terminating end of each network. These units have an RS485 bus connection on COM3 which allows them to be daisy chained together. This allows data packets to be automatically routed the right network like a telephone exchange.. Radio room Congestion Where the radio room is very congested, it may not be possible to put a terminating unit on every network. In which case This way when a message is sent it will always get through, regardless of what other networks have voice audio on them. However this is not strictly necessary
|
Simple Console Integration
The simplest reduced configuration is to have a BT-62 placed prior to the console operators headset and Mic. This way any alarm data packets that arrive, are passed through the unit and become muted. The only downfall of this configuration is that the operator must select a site via the console in order for the PC to access a site. Combining several networks into one BT-62 If a combining bridge is available then this can gather the audio from all your consoles and feed it into a single BT-62 unit. This works providing the PTT ‘E’ leads get turned around and sent to all radio sites. The presence of a PTT ‘E’ lead tells the BT-62 not to transmit because a conversation is in progress. However where you are combining the audio from all the consoles, there is a chance of loosing alarm data packets. This is because the PTT ‘E’ leads do not cross from one console to another and hence a conversation in one console may interrupt a packet in another. |
